Altmünster Day 10

Tuesday August 21st 22:24
After a normal morning of school, I went into Altmünster again with a big group of kids. We go through a forest to get to the town now, we have got the paths figured out and after we got there we went swimming again. I met up with Lucas, and Julien to go to SPAR again, and got some stuff to eat. Then we returned back to camp for dinner. After dinner we were invited to go into Gmunden to meet the Gmunden Rotary Club and introduce ourselves. We walked over there together (all 70 of us), and gathered in front of the lake for a group photo. After we all grouped together though, a crazy drunk old man came over and started directing us and trying to get in our pictures. He followed us for a while, but we lost him once we got into the main square. At the square, we got to see a typical Austrian band, complete with baritones, trumpets, drums, etc. Then one of the Rotary leaders came out and directed a historical Austrian squad to fire a cannon from 1815 (with blank rounds) into the lake. Our Camp director got to fire it too. Then we went into a nice restaurant to get a complimentary drink. One by one the kids from different countries introduced themselves and how many there were from each country. Afterwards we walked back to camp, ate snack then went to bed. It was a pretty normal day, but I had a good time for sure.
