I went back into Gmunden again with Crash, Lucas, Julien and Simon (from B.C. Canada). Lucas swam from the port of Altmünster to the main city of Gmunden after we went to SPAR (the main grocery store in Altmünster) to get Julien chocolate bananas and all of us some sunscreen. The grocery main stores here are SPAR, Billa and Unimarkt. All of which are substantially smaller than the average American grocery store (they are about the size of Heebs) and all of the food is more fresh, and healthier. Everything in Austria has its own stores, there are no super stores like Walmart or Target. There is a Apotheke (Drug Store) Fleischer (Meat Shop) etc. and each of them only carry a specific type of goods, there is no finding little toys or food at an Apotheke, like you can in the U.S. Once we got to Gmunden we swam in the lake a little then met up with Lucas. After, we found the Gmunden Mall, which has about 90 stores, and it felt out of place, being huge in a tiny town on the Traunsee. We walked around in there and browsed the items. We had a long break today because class was postponed from the afternoon into the evening, so we got to spend a lot of time out and about. Carley and Faith Francke are at the window telling me to write about them. So I am including them in this post. Faith is another exchange student in Vorarlberg with me, and Carley is a Californian also here in Austria. A side note, I am lucky to have such cool kids in my room, Johnny (Oregon), Mark (California), Lucas (Arkansas), Parker (Utah), Crash (Washington), Ricardo (Mexico) and myself, a Montanan. Even though we are all from different parts of the world we have become close friends and I trust these guys about as much as a person can. No one judges, it is just a solid environment. By the way, I have been working on my timelapses and I am getting pretty excited about them again. Anyway, all is good.
